The Seedhouse series is made up of three high specification tents, the others being the Seedhouse 1 and Seedhouse 3, with this tent sitting in the middle of the range.All are of similar freestanding design which uses lightweight Yunan 7000 series aluminum 8.91mm poles which fit into a hub and plastic clips attach the tent body to the pole frame for quick and easy set-up.The floor area is a full 28sq ft and the head height a generous 38”, while the 8sq ft vestibule provides ample room for packs and boots.Further dimension details can be found at the end of this review.
The fly on the Big Agnes Seedhouse 2 is 40D nylon rip-stop with a silicone treatment and 1200mm waterproof polyurethane coating while the tent body is 40D nylon mesh permitting excellent ventilation.The floor is 70D, 190T nylon with 1500mm waterproof polyurethane coating.A “D” shaped door leads from the vestibule to the tent body where there are two really useful mesh floor pockets.There is a storm flap over vestibule zipper and the vestibule door boasts a window.All seams are taped with waterproof, solvent-free polyurethane (No PVC or VOC’s) tape and 11 superlight aluminum stakes are included.Loops are ready fitted to take the Big Agnes triangular gear loft (sold separately).
